ABOUT US

Freshman Class Council is a program run by GCU's on-campus student government, ASGCU, and provides members of the freshman class the opportunity to be involved in student leadership. Members of FCC will participate in weekly meetings with their directors that foucs on identifying different aspects and styles of leadership and professionalism, facilitating relationships between student leader mentors and members of FCC, and providing a hands on experience to planning events and representing the freshman class. FCC is a voluntary position and members will not be compensated.

MEET THE DIRECTORS

As FCC directors, we hire 30 freshman at the start of the year to walk through leadership development through the school year. We mentor the freshman, help them plan events, work on professional development, and help foster community. Part of our job is planning and running meetings for the freshman, where we can pass on things we have learned as student leaders. We also take feedback from the freshman to adapt the program as we go. Another part of our job is developing a mentorship program for our team, where other student leaders have the chance to mentor a student as well.
